Privacy
Hafiz Quran is built to need as little of your data as possible. Without an account, none of your progress leaves your device. This page explains what happens if you create one.
Without an account
Your progress, review schedule, quiz history and settings are stored only in your browser on this device. We cannot see them.
With an account: what is stored
Your email address (used to sign in and to reset your password), and the data that is synced: which ayat you practiced and when, your review schedule, daily activity counts, quiz scores, and a few settings such as language and reciter.
What is not stored
No analytics or tracking scripts, no location, and no recordings or audio of you. Your data is not sold.
Where it is kept
On Amazon Web Services in Singapore (ap-southeast-1): sign-in is handled by Amazon Cognito and your progress is stored in an encrypted Amazon DynamoDB table with point-in-time backups. Passwords are handled by Cognito; the app never sees them.
Who can see it
Only you, through your signed-in account. The people who run the service can technically access the database, but have no reason to look at your progress.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account and all cloud data at any time from the Account page. Deleting is permanent. You can also reset only your progress from the Progress page. The copy on your own device is separate and is only removed when you clear it.
Cookies and storage
The app uses your browser's local storage (not cookies) to remember your progress, settings and sign-in. Signing out removes the sign-in from this device.
